L'oreal Hair Expertise & Tangle Teezer review

Hi all,

I popped into Boots today in the search of some new hair products. I've seen the new range from L'oreal a few times but never really thought anything of it but with it being on 3 for 2 at the moment I decided to give it a go. I got the Ever Strong shampoo and conditioner, these are priced at £5.99 each. The reason I was attracted to them initially is that they contain no Sulphites, there are loads of websites which explain the benefits of Sulphate free shampoos so I wont bore you with the details, if it is something your interested in I would definitely recommend doing a quick Google search and you will find plenty or articles.

Back onto the products themselves, they come in large tubes and contain 250ml of product. There are three types to choose from and are all colour coded. The three options are

  • EverPure - Specifically designed for coloured and flat hair, the L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverPure Colour Care & Volume range is a Colour Care System that combines non-sulphate cleansing and indulgent conditioning care. The formulae are enriched with botanical rosemary and juniper oils and leave hair looking voluptuous.
  • EverSleek - Specifically designed for coarse and frizzy hair, the L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverSleek Smoothing & Moisture range is a Smoothing Care System with non-sulphate cleansing and smooth conditioning care. The formula's are enriched with botanical sunflower extract, and help nourish and smooth the hair, for a frizz controlled look.
  • EverStrong - Specifically designed for fragile and brittle hair, L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverStrong Reinforcing & Vitality is a Reinforcing System that combines non-sulphate cleansing and conditioning care. The formulae are enriched with botanical rosemary and juniper oils. Hair looks shinier, smoother and protected.
They smell really nice and clean and quite earthy, they don't smell artificially fragranced like some shampoos do. I rubbed some of each on my hand, as you do, it has a creamy gel like consistency and the smell is really strong (not too overpowering) and actually rather nice. I'll be getting my hubby to use these as well so I can smell his hair in bed.

I was so excited to use these babies that I decided to wash my hair at 12:30am, with it being so late and my kids and husband being in bed I couldn't blow dry it. I hate going to sleep with my hair wet, it always end up being really frizzy and unruly and a pain to straighten, there always weird kinks at the front of my head that no amount of straightening can get rid of.

So I rinses my hair first of all, I read somewhere that the get the best results make sure your hair is really wet before shampooing, I did this and it did lather up nicely for a SLS free shampoo, I then used the conditioner, I only used a really small amount and it did go a long way. I rinsed off the conditioner and my hair did feel lovely and soft.
I used my tangle teezer for the first time after washing my hair and I am  converted, I usually use a wide tooth comb whilst my hair is wet and by the time I'm finished theres usually a huge wad of hair stuck in it, not only does this really wind me up it also scares me that all my hair is going to fall out. After using the tangle teezer through my wet hair a total of...................................ONE single strand of hair was in the teezer. One hair! I was amazed I ran into the bedroom to tell my husband how brilliant this product was, unfortunately he did share my enthusiasm...men!
So, woke up the next morning to find my hair its usual bundle of frizz. I was absolutely gutted, from the reviews I had read about the hair expertise I was hoping to wake up to beautiful head of straight, shiny locks, maybe my expectations were a little high. Armed with my tangle teezer and straighteners I tackled the mess! I usually spend around 20 minutes sectioning and straightening my hair, I didn't have time to do that this morning so just went right into straightening, two minutes later I had straight, shiny and swishy hair. I haven't stopped running my fingers through it all day, its so amazingly soft I can't get over it. It feels so much healthier after only 1 wash, if it continues to do such a great job it will definitely be my new choice of hair products, I am in love!

Overall I would definitely give the L'oreal and the tangle teezer 10/10 they have worked wonders on my usually quite dry and damaged hair. I would definitely recommend giving them a go, as I said previously they are £5.99 each, however every time I have seen them there is always an offer going on.

Thanks for reading

Lots of Love
